MAC Posey Cremeblend blush

Posey is part of MAC's permanent Cremeblend Blush line and is described as a "warm peach." It comes in the usual MAC blush packaging and each pan contains 5.6 grams of product. I got this because this was what Babydoll (Emily Browning) had on in Sucker Punch. I really want to copy her look in that movie!
This was my first MAC blush and first ever cream blush.  I wasn't used to cream formula blushes so I had difficulties blending this on my skin at first. It ended up looking either patchy or overdone. I've found a stippling brush to be really helpful but now that I'm used to it, I just use my fingers. I pat this cream to powder formula over a base, because I noticed it fades when applied on bare skin.  I sometimes use this as a lip tint too.
Posey looks scary and too red in the pan but once applied, it gives my cheeks a pop of rosy color that mimics my skin's natural flush! I am around NC30/ 35 but I think this would suit most skin tones as well. The cream formula also gives the appearance of healthy glowing skin because of the slight dewy finish. I also use this under my powder blushes whenever I want the color to last all day.

My aunt in the US bought this for me so I am not entirely sure if it's sold in local MAC counters.

  • Gives a natural pop of color!
  • Staying Power is good
  • Cream to Powder formula does not look greasy/oily
  • A little goes a long way
  • Semi dewy finish gives a subtle glow

  • Can be difficult to work with at first
  • Easily overdone
  • Expensive

  • I love it! It gives my skin a natural glow!

MAC Faux

Faux is a gorgeous muted mauve-pink in Satin finish. It is part of MAC's permanent range and although it's no bestseller, I believe it definitely deserves more attention from MAC fans! I find it the perfect nude shade that won't wash you out because of its slight pink and mauve undertones.
Formula-wise, I'm not really a fan of the satin finish. I have to hydrate and exfoliate my lips really well or else the product will settle into the fine lines of my lips. Faux performs better than Pink Nouveau, though.
Faux is almost always sold out in the Philippines so I had to ask my aunt in the US to buy me one last Christmas. If you happen to drop by MAC, do give Faux a try. It might be your next favorite! ;)

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Red Velvet

Hello, my dears! As I've previously mentioned, my laptop charger broke which explains the lack of activity in this blog the last few months. I finally had it repaired and that means I can now go back to blogging! There's a load of backlogs here in my laptop but this product I have right here I only got  very recently. I just couldn't wait to write about it! I come back with a review of my latest addiction, Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Red Velvet!
At first, I was skeptical about this product even though everyone on the internet was raving about it. But being the lip junkie that I am, I relentlessly researched about this product and after a few weeks of convincing myself that this is just another lip product in the market, my curiosity got the best of me. I got the shade Red Velvet because the beauty consultant at the Revlon counter said this one's a better seller over Peach Parfait. It can also be used as a lip tint as opposed to Peach Parfait which is very light according to her. Maybe it's also because of the weather that I've been leaning more closely to darker lip colors this season.

The Revlon Lip Butter Claims.
Buttery Balm + Shiny Color. Buttery balm with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips. 94% of women felt lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated. Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%. Pampering gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth. Sheer to medium colour with buttery shine. Available in 20 luscious shades.

June Favorites

Even though I rarely update my blog nowadays (school stuff), I simply cannot go on without updating you with last month's favorites. I only have a few products to share since I'm always in a rush to do my makeup for school leaving me no time to experiment with other products in my stash. Now, here we go.

1. Etude House Be Clear Facial Wash I was supposed to include this in May Favorites but I totally forgot about it! When I went to summer camp, I left this at home thinking it was a bit too bulky in my bag. Big mistake. I only used soap on my face so I got white heads all over my nose. :( I got this a couple months back and this big tube lasts a long long long looooooooooong time.

2. Johnson's Baby Bath Milk I just decided to try this one so my mom bought a small bottle. I really like to use this because it makes me feel baby soft all over. I kind of got tired of using soaps too so now baby bath is the way to go for me!

3. Johnson's Baby Lotion Milk To match my bath milk, I also got the lotion! I love the smell of this and I feel pretty safe (skin-wise) when I use this because it was made for babies! I kind of figured I should be more gentle  on my skin since I'm still pretty young. I'll save all the specially formulated skin products for later!

4. Elianto Nail Polish Peach Again, I was supposed to include this in the May favorites. This is such a pretty cute color that looks good on short or long nails. Swatch here.

5. Shiseido Natural Finish Cream Concealer This is a creamy opaque concealer with really good staying power! I don't use foundation anymore and only apply this on my blemishes and dark circles. The shade is a bit light for me so it also acts as a highlighting concealer!
6. L'oreal Brow Stylist I got this from my grandmother when I still had black hair. I couldn't use it then because it looked very orange in direct light. Now I have lighter hair, this has been my default eyebrow makeup. I just darken it a bit with eye brow powder.

7. Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips-talk OR204 I absolutely hate the texture of Etude House lipsticks but the colors in their spring/summer collection are too yummy to resist! This shade leans on the pastel side but still has a slight hint of neon to it. I wonder why they named this shade Shy Coral when it's hard to go unnoticed when you're wearing this lip color.

8. MAC Faux lipstick This is my favorite Mauve/ Nude MAC lipstick of all time! I've been using it sparingly since I got it because it's pretty hard to get your hands on it in this country. My aunt from the US bought this for me. Lately, I've been wearing this color more often because it's so gorgeous, night or day! Local celebrity, Heart Evangelista also uses this lipstick!

9. Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick Coquette On its own it's a bit too pale for me so I layer it under my Etude House lipsticks. I have a love- hate relationship with Etude's lipsticks since they emphasize dry spots on my lips. Thankfully, this opaque is so thick it acts as a really good base for any lipstick!

Etude House Drawing Eye Brow

On days where I want to wear no makeup at all, the least I could do is to groom my brows. Our eyebrows frame our face and making them look more polished than usual can make a whole lot of difference. For one, shaping our brows thinly makes us look older and our eyes smaller while shaping them a bit fuller will result in a younger looking face and rounder eyes. Go try it and see for yourself! Now, when it comes to brows, here is one product I  swear by- Etude House Drawing Eye brows!
Drawing eye brows comes in a refillable double ended auto pencil. There are 6 shades to choose from:
#1 Dark Brown
#2 Black Brown
#3 Brown
#4 Dark Gray
#5 Gray
#6 Black

Shiseido Natural Finish Cream Concealer

Today's review will be about Shiseido's Natural Finish Cream Concealer. I got this concealer a while back from my grandmother in the US when she came home for a visit. Before, I didn't have any concealers in my kit, but because I purchased Benefit's Confession of a Concealaholic kit, which has a total of 3 concealers, and now this, I have more than I need!
Shiseido says "Perfectly cover flaws and match skin tone for a flawless, natural finish. Superior coverage to conceal dark circles, dullness and areas of unevenness like reddened cheeks, discoloration and freckles. Awarded for “The Best Camouflaging Concealer” in New Beauty Magazine! NON-COMEDOGENIC. DERMATOLOGIST AND OPHTHALMOLOGIST-TESTED."
There are 5 shades available and I have this concealer in No. 2, Light Medium. There's 10 ml. of product and a tube is good for use up to 24 months upon opening which is a pretty long time, if you ask me. This concealer is also perspiration, water, and oil resistant.

May Favorites

For the month of May, I didn't wear foundation that much because my skin got a little darker. Hot weather causes my skin to dry up and my foundation to cake up so I avoided wearing full face makeup as much as possible. To make up for that, I focused on adding color to my face, taming my hair, and polishing my brows! Here are my top picks for the month of May!

1. Benefit Erase Paste Mini This is the mini Erase Paste included in my Confessions of a Concealaholic kit which I take out and toss into my makeup bag. I like this concealer because it brightens my under-eye area. I tend to stay up late during summer so my eye bags can get really bad. The mini size is perfect for me because I can take it with me to touch up when I'm out! I have to set this with powder though.

2. Etude House Look at My Eyes BE101 Banana Latte and 3. PP501 Sweet Potato Latte I did a makeup post about these two shadows here. Unlike most Look at My Eyes shadows, these two aren't as shimmery. Banana Latte is so close to my skin tone, I can fake a higher arch and a brighter inner eye corner without looking too obvious. Sweet Potato Latte adds a bit more depth to my eyes and is a good alternative to my usual brown shadows. Boyfie bought these for me so I use them a lot! :)
4. Majolica Majorca Brow Powder BR666 I use a brow pencil then top it with this. It makes my brows look fuller and darker. Thankfully, it doesn't look bad with my colored hair. I'm trying to use up my remaining brow makeups before I switch up to one which is a perfect match for my new hair.

5. Majolica Majorca Perfect Automatic Liner BK999 I have to confess that for the month of May, I have not once washed my brushes. I'd been using disposable makeup applicators and sponges to apply makeup so I couldn't use my fluidlines at all. I'm glad the staying power of Majolica Majorca's liquid liner is superb. It stays on longer than MAC fluidlines and the waterproof formula is perfect for hot summer days! I reviewed it here.

 6. Wet n' Wild Wine Red 522A I use this to mimic a "just bitten" lip. When worn as a lipstick it can be too bold but when dabbed on and used like a lip tint, it's beautiful! I use this on people (male or female) when I do their makeup.

7. MAC Ruby Woo I rarely watch television but the past month, I'd been watching Showtime. Anne Curtis uses a bold red lip color and if my research is correct, it is this very lipstick. I wore this lipstick out, people can't help but stare.

8. NYX Round lip gloss in Whipped This color softens any lip color I wear under it. It's also a great alternative to lip concealer if you want the "ulzzang" lips. Just line the outer parts of your lips with this and voila!- instant cute lips.

9. Citre Shine Thermo Defense Shine Glaze Because I dyed my hair, I'm taking extra measures to care for it. On days where I need to use heating tools, I spritz my hair with this. The bottle says to use it on towel dried hair but I use it on damp hair. I find the formula too thick so I dilute it with the water from my hair. This product doesn't only coat my hair with a protective layer, it also makes my hair color stand out more.

10. Etude House Hot Style Bubble Hair Coloring in Sweet Orange I used this to dye my hair. It's so easy to use but can get a little messy. Apart from that, I love the color! Don't be scared that your hair will turn orange because it won't. Mine turned into a lovely sweet brown shade. I'm going to use this to dye my hair again.

That's all, folks! I'll be updating this blog with reviews soon.

New Haircut + Dyeing Experience!

Hello, Hello! Sorry for the inactivity in this blog as of late. I don't know what's going on really but right now, I am quite stressed with my enrollment because the way I see it, it is a very crucial upcoming semester for me. The subjects I will be taking will determine how many semesters I have left before I graduate. I'm supposed to be on my *fourth* year in college already. Oh oh it's a long story so I'll spare you the lame loopy ride that is my college life and move on to today's feature- my new hair!!!

(My blog is now becoming self-centered and narcissistic. I can feel it! I can feel it! Anyways, tomorrow will be  a post about last month's favorites. So going back, my new hair!!!)

I had been wanting to cut my hair short for over a year already but my parents don't want me to. They believe long hair suits me more. They only gave me permission to do so because I begged them all summer to allow me!

For my hair makeover, I went to Antonio Hairdressing BFHomes. A few years ago, they did my hair and I really liked the regrowth. Even after many months, my hair still felt thick and healthy. I decided to go back because it was my first time to cut my hair this short so I wanted to make sure I don't regret it! I've been to countless salons before and sometimes they just don't get it right. I know you know what I mean!

I tried to get the same stylist who did my hair before but unfortunately he no longer works there. They gave me Miss Weng instead. Fortunately, she is really helpful and warm. It was my first time to actually have a conversation with the person cutting my hair. In other salons, they just snip my hair away without a word and I don't even get their name! I showed her the picture of the haircut I wanted. She kind of sensed I was pretty nervous about it so she suggested she cut my hair a little bit longer.

Tony Moly + Personal Update

Hello!! Sorry, sorry, sorry, so sorry that I haven't updated this blog for more than a week! I was in a summer youth camp with my sister for 4 days and it took a couple more days after that to adjust again to life here in Manila. Haha, kidding! But seriously, the moment I got home, I passed out from exhaustion. Anyways, I might do a post about the camp once I've gathered enough pictures. Meanwhile, let me share this post that has been sitting here in my dashboard for weeks waiting for publication. I did it a few weeks ago but couldn't squeeze it between my product reviews just yet, I don't know why. I think it was waiting for this moment all along since I really need to replenish this blog with some beauty product lovin' posts! Let us begin!

I started liking Asian cosmetics when Etude House launched in the Philippines. I only bought local or US drugstore brands before that, but now that more Asian brands popped up in the beauty market, and not to mention these brands have the cutest packaging, I can't help but jump in to the Asian cosmetics craze. My latest eye candy? Tony Moly!

Before I buy anything, I make it a point to look the products up on the internet. I'm new to the brand so I haven't bought anything yet but here are some products from the that I've been eyeing.

1. Dear Me Petite Cotton BB Cream
2. Dear Me Petite Cotton Pact

I found these two really cute! Their size makes them perfect for a crowded makeup kit.

3.Berry Berry Lovely Stick
4. Kiss Lover Lipstick
5. Milky Tint Pink
6. Milky Tint Peach
7. Backstage Smoothie Matte Lipsticks
8. Petite Bunny Gloss Bar
9. Fruit Gloss

Can you tell what I like lip products very very much? LOL. The last two sets are so cute!

10. Double Needs Mascara
11. Cats Wink Mascara

I'm not sure if Double Needs Mascara is really blue but I think Cats Wink Mascara is so adorable!

12. Pocket Bunny Face Mist
13. Tomatox Magic White Massage Pack

Pocket Bunny Face Mist is so cute and Tomatox is really effective (I heard)!

14. Berry Trendy Hair Styling Mist

I really want to try this!

15. Lacquer Glitter
16. S/S 2012 Collection

Pretty colors!

Have you tried any of these products from Tony Moly? What did you think of them? Let me know! :)

Images taken from

By the way, last night, I checked my mail and found a couple of messages from my blog visitors. Thank you so much. I really appreciate the kind words! I really felt happy getting positive feedback from writing about beauty and makeup. It's something I enjoy and love doing and to be praised by you girls, I am very grateful. I visited your blogs and I gotta say, yours are so much more interesting than mine! Some of your blogs, I already know about before I even got your messages. Thank you so much! I'm working on a follow widget so we can all stay connected but as you all know, GFC shut down and I don't know where to get a similar widget. Help me, please? :(

Face of the Day: New Everyday Makeup!

Hi! what do you think of this new look? I wasn't planning on creating a Face of the Day post today. I just wanted to try the new shadows I have from Etude House. I really liked the final look so I decided to share it with you. I'll have you know that I got inspired by Korean actresses. I really want to focus on creating more natural looks for myself. I think this will be my default everyday makeup! I'm also going to talk about how I did this look. ;)

I apologize for the blurred photos because this is going to be one picture heavy post!

April Favorites

Hello, there! As promised, I am now back to my usual beauty posts! To start off, I'm going to talk about last month's favorites. I wasn't able to do one for March because I honestly didn't wear makeup that much. Last April though, I acquired more beauty products and the summer vacation gave me time to experiment with different makeup looks as well as test out different makeup products whenever I went out. I'm probably going to bore all of you but if you like Etude House, keep on reading! Without further ado, here are some products that topped my list last month:

Etude House Dream On Pact is my go- to product right now. It's perfect for mid-day touch-ups since the powder feels really light. I used to bring powder foundations that can be a little too thick/ heavy for touch-ups. I like this because it doesn't leave my face feeling cakey. I absolutely hate heavy makeup on my face considering how hot the summer days are. Etude House Face Designing Brightener photographs really well! I cannot imagine highlighting and contouring without this!  I love its scent too!

Etude House Drawing eye brows makes me wish I had discovered it sooner. It's an eyebrow pencil that looks waxy/ powdery in photographs and in real life! I used to have problems with eyebrow makeup because it either looks too subtle, or too much. With this product, I can keep on shaping and drawing my brows without the product building up and looking too fake on me. This makes my life so easy! Pick this up, pick this up! Etude House Oh~m'Eye Lash mascara is a cheap alternative to my Majolica Majorca Lash Expander. It really lengthens my lashes! I'm glad I found this so I don't have to spend too much on lengthening mascaras anymore. They're good for only 3 to 6 months anyway. :(

I almost gave up on M.A.C Macroviolet and Blacktrack Fluidline. I gave them another try though and so far, I'm loving them! I guess I hated them at first because I wasn't used to gel liners yet. I also use these as eye shadow bases. I like Macroviolet because it's a great alternative to the usual bold black liners. The plum shade is perfect for brightening and defining the eyes. Macroviolet works better than Blacktrack in terms of staying power too. Blacktrack is perfect for my dark smokey eye looks! I love that its finish is matte because I'm not a fan of glossy liners at all.

I thought I didn't need Etude House Color Me Nude Lip Concealer since any concealer might just do the same thing. I decided to get it because I wanted to mimic the "ulzzang lip." So far, I love it! It turns the edges of my lips invisible! I like wearing this with Etude House Pink Tonic Lip glass. I'd been looking everywhere for this tint/gloss. Don't be fooled by the clear formula. This colors your lips a beautiful pink like you wouldn't believe! The gloss formula also helps my lips appear fuller. I really should get the other two shades.

Another lippie favorite of mine is Etude House Miss Tangerine Follow Me Tint! This is the cutest hint of color on your lips! Go get one for yourself now!!!

I love Nivea Sun Whitening Daily Face Fluid for its high SPF and instant whitening effect to the skin.  This makes my skin look so much better when I'm too lazy to put anything else on. It protects it from the sun too! Olay All-in-One Fairness Day Cream made me notice a radiance on my face that wasn't there before. I have been staying up late like crazy the past month and thankfully, no serious break outs have popped up! It might just be all thanks to this!
